Why out Hotel is called the "Theodul":Our grandmother, Filomea Walch, lived with a distinct sense of tradition. She brought the knowledge of our ancestry, the customs and patron saints with her into the modern day. "St. Theodul"was bishop of Sitten (Sion) in what is today the Swiss Vallais, and is the patron saint of the Walser, who settled around Lech in 1300.
Out of anger about the wager that he’d lost, the devil threw the bell to the flaw so violently, that it sank into the earth. The bishop cried: “Dona! Dona! Lit!” and the bell came ringing back up to the surface and has since been a wonder against bad weather. |
