Lech and Oberammergau

Lech is famous throughout Europe as a top Austrian ski resort, but when the snow melts, the days lengthen and the Alpine meadows burst into flower, it becomes a wonderful summer paradise...

For all who love the splendour of the mountains and the fresh alpine air, Lech offers a summertime break, beyond compare. There’s a fabulous wealth of outdoor attractions and activities in the area with over 250km of signposted footpaths, crystal clear lakes and streams, fragrant forests and everywhere breathtaking mountain scenery.

Located in the Vorarlberg area of western Austria, close to the borders of Switzerland and southern Germany, Lech is a delightful and immaculately kept Alpine village, set at 1446 metres above sea-level. Three cable cars operate in the area high into the mountains, from where there are spectacular views and well marked paths offering a variety of walks from the very easy to quite demanding. A number of mountain bars and restaurants provide a pleasant and welcome resting point as you take in the wonderful mountain air and admire the distant snow-capped peaks.

Day 1:
Depart from your choice of our 6 UK airports for your flight. On arrival you will be met and transferred by coach to the lovely village of Lech situated in the Voralberg area of Austria. The journey will take around 4 hours. Check into your 4 star hotel Theodul situated close to the centre of this delightful village.

Day 2:
Enjoy all the day exploring the village or strolling in the hills or, for the more adventurous, longer walks in the mountains perhaps using the various cable cars or chairlifts which our guests have unlimited use of with their complimentary “Lech card”.

Day 3:
A further day to relax or use the free local bus services to explore the joys of this area.

Day 4:
Full day excursion to the capital of the Austrian Tyrol - Innsbruck. Enjoy a day looking around the shops, relaxing at pavement café’s and see amidst the charming Old Town, fine Gothic and Baroque buildings and Innsbruck’s greatest tourist attraction “The Golden Roof ”. Return to Lech in good time for dinner.

Day 5:
A day of leisure in Lech to further explore the beauty of this area.

Day 6:
After breakfast we say farewell to our attentive hosts, Martina and Dietmar and make the journey of just over 2 hours to Oberammergau. Time to relax before your included dinner.

Day 7:
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast and the opportunity to explore the village before enjoying your included lunch. After which make your to the theatre in good time for the play to commence at 230pm. During the 3 hour interval you will be able to enjoy an included Dinner at a restaurant in Oberammergau. The play finishes at 10.30pm.

Day 8:
It is time to leave this fairytale village and make our way to the departure airport for your return flight back to the UK.
