Along the tracks of the winter archetype, the „White Ring“ a very special nature experience presents itself in the midst of an unrivalled mountain scenery – the green Ring.
This colourful hiking path runs along three stages around the beautiful mountainous landscape from Lech-Zürs am Arlberg. Alongside wonderful vantage points you will find picturesque nature information, library huts to stop off at full of legends and stories to fire the imagination of the hiker. Hiking points shrouded in legends with names like “The Book”, “Witches Base” or “Miner’s Hole” promising interesting encounters with nature as well as fascinating stories.
The author Daniela Egger gathers legends handed down over generations and field names and transports them into the modern global world fabricating new, wonderful and humorous legends. Stories from the past as well as from the future mould the landscape making the leading paths perceptible in an extraordinary way where the invisible, imaginable and unexpected predominate.
The sculptor Daniel Nikolaus Kocher developed the installations along the „Green Ring“. These form a harmonious complement to the legendary hikes and dominate with their superiority a delicate balancing act between the intervention in a natural landscape and the staging of special places along the route.
This exclaimed art and literature project brought to life in 2007 is continually being enlarged and expanded. It leaves a lasting impression on the breathtaking nature jointly with a modern world of legends. A unique nature experience which one should definitely not miss out on.
In Summer 2015 the project “The Green Ring” won the Innovation Award Vorarlberg.
