Comfortable arrival by plane from Great Britain |

New scheduled flights from London and Manchester with Monarch Airlines to Friedrichshafen enable our guests from Great Britain to arrive even easier.
From the 14th December Monarch Airlines fly six times a week from Great Britain to Friedrichshafen. And guests from the south of England can fly non-stop. There is also the possibility twice a week from Manchester.
The scheduled flights are already available at www.monarchairlines.com
Naturally there are still the connections with InterSky, Germanwings and Lufthansa to Friedrichshafen. For our Dutch guests Transavia offers a scheduled flight to Friedrichshafen every Saturday from Rotterdam.

Excellent performances were achieved by the 700 participants at the new edition of the longest Triathlon in Vorarlberg despite the weather conditions.
We congratulate our participants (Mr Mathias Hecht (4th place), Mr Matthias Putzke and Mr Jörg Hartmann) for their sensational performances.

Lech has something to offer to everyone. |

 Summer flies by, time races by and there is still so much to do.
Our kitchen chef Mario is paragliding almost every day.
Last week on one of his landings he quickly picked some mountain chives for us.
Philipp is always climbing the steepest rocks.
 Magnus and Dietmar are completing a kayak course at the moment and Martina is always discovering the mountains in the afternoons.
Adventure for everyone – off to Lech.

Unfortunately it’s nearly time for the „Gormley’s" to be taken down.
For those of you who feel like it and have the time, you can still see these imposing icemen up to 11th July.
After that they will unfortunately be taken down.

Family Day |

Today we have earned a family day.
Our sons Magnus and Linus went on a lovely hike from Lech-Formarinsee to Bludenz with us.
Impressive! We are always amazed at ourselves how far one can walk in a relatively short time. |

The Lechweg was officially opened in the middle of June with great celebrations. Lots of guests are already looking forward to this wonderful wide hiking route.
The hanging bridge is an absolute “MUST” to experience. |

Summer weather |

Summer has really been on its best behaviour these past two weeks. All the paperwork simply had to wait. In such splendid weather, you just have to get outside.
We’ve gone on many new hikes this year:
Do you know "the hunting trail"? From Schröcken to Oberlech via the Butzensee? Or the "Schafalpweg" morning walk up to the Rüfikopf and a ride down with the first gondola.
A summer like this is easily endured.

Walserweg |

We have finally fulfilled a great wish of ours this year.
The start of the Walserweg trail - from Zermatt to the Kleine Walstertal.
Towards the end of July we managed the first stage of the trail from Saas Almagell to the Simplon pass. Finally, we fast forwarded to the final stage of the trail and ran from Lech to Baad via the Hochalppaß and back to Lech via the Gemstl.

Magnus and Linus have been practicing diligently. Coordination and balance were required of them today. Above the creek on the slackline. Even Dietmar and Martina tried it out as well.

Victorian State Youth Brass Band |

During a tour of Europe (Munich, Brussels, London, Paris, Bregenz, Lech, Innsbruck), the "Victorian State Youth Brass Band" from Melbourne in Australia also stopped over in our Theodul in Lech.
Blessed with excellent weather, we were able to enjoy a small display of their skills on the Rüfikopfplatz in the afternoon. In the evening they gave a spectacular concert in the Lech church: aged between 10 and 25, the Australian youths gave an exceptional performance. Prior to departure on the following day, the youngsters were able to try out an “Alphorn”. Now they are on their way back home to Australia, and will hopefully visit us again.

Summer is back! |

Magnus and Linus have been training diligently and have made it their goal to climb one mountain peak of the Lech mountain range every week.
Dietmar has temporarily traded the local mountain peaks for the"summits" in Vietnam. Full of enthusiasm, hesendsback stories of his travels to those of us who stayed here at home.
As for myself, I enjoyadaily mountain hike ora bike ridein the spacious landscape surrounding Lech. The vegetation has already progressed quite far this year. The flowers are simply magnificent. Hiking with a view -above the tree line. Enjoy the peace and quiet. Staying active in nature-what could be a nicer way of keeping fit and recharging your batteries? |

Today we have even found some pristine pistes.
We were asked if "St. Peter" is also one of our regular guests.
This must indeed be the case. Once again we’ve been very lucky this week.

Austrian Youth Championships in Slalom |

At this year's Austrian Youth Championships in Slalom in Bad Kleinkirchheim, our Magnus was awarded the gold medal and thus became Austria's youth champion in slalom. We are extremely proud and would like to congratulate Magnus from the bottom of our hearts.

Seeing as it snowed here so magnificently, our kids couldn’t hold back any longer and joined the back-country skiers on today’s tour to the Muggengrat. It was spectacular!

Today the ceremonial opening of the biggest landscape installation Horizon Field took place on the Kriegeralpe in Oberlech. Anthony Gormley resided too.
The Kunsthaus Bregenz realises with the British artist Anthony Gormley (born 1950) a unique project in the mountains of Vorarlberg. Horizon Field is the first art project of this type which you can see in the mountains and at the same time the biggest landscape installation in Austria up to now.

Incidentally on the way from Zug to Balmalp (under the Zug mountain railway) we came across a “Gormley”. The locations were perfectly chosen for it. It is definitely a must see.
