Company mission statementWe create and offer a space that inspires our guests, in which they feel as happy and content as they do at home. Our hotel belongs to the small, fine hotels in Lech and the quality of our service and facilities meets the standards of a 4-star hotel. The base line of our “hardware” (buildings, rooms etc) lies in the individual rooms and the spacious communal areas. As a small Hotel, we build on our strengths, “the individual care of our guests” and “emphasising the little things”. The Theodul is recommended by insider’s for its good food, attentive service, comfortable sauna area and Hotel with a good audience and pleasant atmosphere, without you having “to wear a tie”.We will consistently build on important fundamental values:
In the intermeding time, the heavy weight of business in the winter will remain where we build up for the summer season. In the future, we will bind our staff to the hotel even more strongly: with opportunities for further training and through having appropriate places to live. For the people who “work” it, the Theodul should be a means of subsistence, a job and an opportunity for self fulfilment; above all, they must be happy.
The HistoryIn 1909, Sebastian Walch, the initiator and builder of the Flexenstrasse, sold the large estate to his nephew, Martin, and wondered out into the Kloster valley as he saw no future in the town for the family. Martin bequeathed it to his son, Gotthard. In 1921, Gotthard married Filomena Walch and passed away in 1929. He left 4 sons behind: Martin, Vinzenz, Wilhelm and Josef. With the arrival of tourism, the building blocks of the courtyard were built. Together with his wife, Ruth, Josef built Haus Wallis in 1952, Hotel Theodul in 1968 and the “Knappaboda” in 1980. In 1986, Josef and his son, Dietmar together took over the “Theodul” with his wife, Matina. In the following years, the hotel was redeveloped, renovated and several extensions were built. In 1994, the Theodul was awarded 4 stars. In 2004, an underground extension with new sauna facility was built. The facility was completely destroyed in 2005 due to floods but replaced within just 3 months. |
